What European patients check before they book treatment abroad

Andrej GaškoSeptember 2026 · 5 min read

A patient in Munich comparing clinics in Istanbul has five or six tabs open. She doesn't pick the cheapest one. She picks the one she trusts first.

Here is what she looks for, roughly in this order. If your clinic answers these questions before she has to ask, you are already ahead of most clinics she is comparing.

1. Real faces

Photos of your doctors, your team and your clinic. Not stock photos. She wants to know who will treat her and where.

2. Cases like hers

Before-and-after photos of her treatment: veneers, implants, full-mouth work. One good case of exactly what she needs beats ten general photos.

3. A clear price range

She doesn't need an exact quote yet, but she needs a range and to know what is included. Hotel? Transfer from the airport? Flights? If she has to guess, she moves to the next tab.

4. How many days she needs

She has to ask her boss for time off. "Most veneer cases take 5 to 7 days" is the kind of sentence that lets her plan the trip in her head.

5. Reviews from people like her

Google reviews are good. Reviews from patients from her own country are much better. She wants to read someone who made the same trip.

6. Someone who answers fast

When she finally writes, the clinic that answers first, clearly and kindly starts the conversation. The others often never get a reply back.

7. What happens if something goes wrong

Aftercare when she is back home, a guarantee on the work, a person she can message. This is the question she rarely asks, but always thinks about.

Checklist for your clinic: real faces · cases of each treatment · a price range with what's included · days needed · reviews from EU patients · a reply within 5 minutes · a clear aftercare promise.
